Meet the Team
Dr Emma Lane – Vet and Practice Owner
Emma graduated from Murdoch University in 1999 and began her veterinary career at Lathlain Vet Clinic, where she eventually became a practice owner. After several adventures away from Perth, she always found her way back to the clinic.
Passionate about veterinary care and lasting client relationships, Emma particularly enjoys surgery and supporting pets and their families throughout treatment and recovery.
Outside work, she enjoys time with her husband and three young-adult sons, along with her much-loved fur family: Gus, her Maltese Shih Tzu Pug cross; rescue cats Jimmy and Benny; and Lady, her rescue rabbit.
Dr Suna Winterburn – Vet
Suna is a very experienced vet and has been with Pets and Vets in some form for over 20 years. She has 3 sons and 2 rescue dogs and likes spending time at the beach, bushwalking and watching her boys play cricket. She enjoyed volunteering in Thailand to spey and neuter their street dogs. She has an interest is complex medical cases.
Dr Erica Dudley – Vet
Erica graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2001 and enjoyed working in a mixed animal practice, in country Victoria, prior to moving to the UK to work as a small animal practitioner. Erica moved to Perth and joined the Vic Park Vet team in 2009. Erica enjoys all aspects of veterinary work and has an interest in small animal medicine.
Her home is shared with a menagerie of pets and kids and notably the wonderful ‘Harry High pants’, a cat who was once dumped at the clinic as a stray.
Dr Nadia Marchini – Vet
Nadia graduated from Murdoch Uni in 1991. She worked for Pets and Vets in the Pilbara and Albany before moving back to Perth and working in various practices until returning as a full time vet work at Victoria Park and Lathlain Vets. She then studied for an Advanced Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine and acupuncture which she now incorporates into her veterinary work.
She has 2 real children and 5 fur children consisting of 3 dogs and 2 cats. She also has a slimy magnificent tree frog child named Fern.
Dr Amy Fahrner – Vet
Amy graduated from Murdoch University in 2019 and has worked in both regional and metropolitan clinics, gaining experience in all aspects of small animal general practice.
She enjoys building trust with clients, solving medical puzzles, and making vet visits as stress-free as possible for pets.
When she’s not at work, Amy enjoys good coffee, beach walks, and relaxing with her partner and pets
Dr Kacey Watanabe – Vet
Kacey moved to Australia from Japan when she was 10 years old. She graduated from Murdoch University in 2000 and started working at a 24 hour clinic in Melbourne before returning to Perth. She has worked at numerous clinics around Perth before starting at Lathlain Clinic as an part time veterinarian. She is also at South Metro TAFE teaching Animal studies students.
Kacey has special interest in dermatology and wound care. She has two kids who helps Kacey with looking after their pet Jack Russell cross Chibi.
Bec – Lead Veterinary Nurse – Client Experience and Administration
Bec started her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at the beginning of 2020 and has since fallen in love with vet nursing.
She has a crazy Frenchie named Kenny, a silly Goldie name Biscuit and a talking bird named Crackers who are all best buds!
Bec loves to keep busy but will always find time to give your fur baby a cuddle.
Amelia – Lead Veterinary Nurse – Clinical Operations
Amelia started her vet nurse journey studying Certificate II in Animal Studies which led her to completing work experience at our Lathlain Vet Clinic. We all fell in love with her enthusiasm as she developed a love for the industry and went on to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. The clinic soon found a position for her and she now works full time for us here in Lathlain.
When she is not at work, Amelia enjoys going down to the beach and spending time with her family, friends and animals.
Anjel – Vet Nurse
Anjel started her Vet nursing career as a Trainee in 2019 and has now Joined the Pets and Vets Lathlain team in March 2023 as a qualified vet nurse.
Anjel has had a passion for all animals big and small since she could point and say “horsie!”. Anjel is very passionate about patient care and making your fur babies feel right at home.
In her spare time you can find Anjel going on adventures with her Paint horse Opal and spending time with family and friends.
Toni – Vet Nurse
Toni is a part time nurse who is at Lathlain Vet Clinic on Wednesday’s, Thursday’s, Friday’s and Saturdays. Toni has been a part or our veterinary family for many years and we have watched her become a mother of two gorgeous children.
Although her kids keep her busy, she of course has a beautiful fur family; Sky a mature greyhound whose favourite pastime is sleeping on the couch, Pepe the Cat, Stormy the Rabbit and the newest addition is Milo the Cavoodle x Maltese a bundle of fun and energy who is the total opposite of Sky.
Ji’Anne – Vet Nurse
Ji’Anne started her Cert III in Animal Studies in July 2022 and then went on to complete her Cert IV in Vet Nursing. She joined the Pets & Vets team as a work experience student and was then offered a position at the Lathlain clinic.
Outside of work, she’s kept busy fostering cats with different cat rescues, in the hopes that one day her husband will let her keep one herself. Or two or more.
Maddy – Vet Nurse
Maddy joined our team as a trainee vet nurse in October 2023.
She then commenced her study in Cert IV Vet Nursing.
She has grown up fostering cats which led to a love of the industry.
At home she has a new fur baby Alfie the Golden retriever, six foster failed kitties and a cavalier X.
In her down time she enjoys keeping active by taking Alfie on walks and to the beach.
Zoe – Vet Nurse
Zoe gained her Certificate III in Animal Care in 2024 and graduated with her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in December 2025.
Zoe grew up in the regional southwest of WA, surrounded by many different species of animals and enjoyed forming bonds with them all.
Zoe has a particular interest in rabbits and enjoys spending time with her own two rescue bunnies, Shaye and Petey.
